OsiriX Backup
Backing Up Local Default Database onto an External Hard Drive
1. Quit Osirix if it is running.
2. Click Finder --------Documents---------you will see a Folder called OSIRIX DATA
3. Check the size of the Folder just to see if it matches with the size of your case collection
4. Right click and Copy folder
5. In the external Hard drive: Create a New Folder called Backup
6. Paste the copied OSIRIX DATA folder into this BACKUP folder
7. After this is copied, check if the backup has worked by following the next steps.
8. Open Osirix on a different Mac, Click File----------click new database folder--------explore---------locate to the External hard drive---point to---BACKUP folder--------don't explore further just stop at this and ---------click create
9. All your cases will be imported into the new mac under a new database called as Backup DB
10. Album structure will be preserved if you use the OsiriX version 3.8 and above !
Backing Up any Database onto an External Hard Drive
Copy the database containing folder in the Mac to an External Hard Drive
Open Osirix on a different Mac (same version as the one in the Parent Mac)
Click File----------click new database folder--------
Explore---------locate to the External hard drive---point to---copied database folder
don't explore further just stop at this and ---------click create
All your cases will be imported into the new mac retaining the album structure
Note: You can use File--Open Database---just to open and not copy the database
